It gives me immense pride and honor to be part of an institution that carries the rich legacy of Karmveer Dr. Mamasaheb Jagdale, a visionary social reformer and an eminent educationist of Maharashtra. His unwavering commitment to the upliftment of rural society and education of the underprivileged continues to inspire us even today. What began as Shivaji Maratha Boarding in 1934 has grown into Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal —a beacon of learning with a vast network of educational institutions across Barshi and Dharashiv.
Established in 1966, College of Education, Barshi stands as one of the flagship institutions under SSSPM. Permanently affiliated to Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University and recognized by NCTE and UGC under 2(f) and 12(B), our college is a government grant-in-aid institution known for academic excellence, value-based education, and inclusive learning practices.
Our vision is to empower student teachers to meet the demands of the 21st century, grounded in human values and technological competence. We aim to develop professionally competent, socially responsible, and self-reliant educators who can become catalysts of positive change in the global society.
Our journey has been marked by notable achievements—culminating in the recent re-accreditation with an 'A' Grade and a CGPA of 3.04 by NAAC in 2023. The college offers a wide range of academic programs including B.Ed., B.P.Ed., M.Ed., M.P.Ed., and Ph.D. in interdisciplinary studies in the subjects Education and Physical Education. The excellent academic performance of our students, their participation in co-curricular, extension and sports activities, and successful placements in reputed institutions, speak volumes about the quality of education we impart.
At College of Education Barshi, we believe in holistic development and foster an environment where every student teacher evolves as a confident professional and a compassionate human being. This success is a result of the collective effort and dedication of our management, faculty, non-teaching staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders.
